Welcome!

My name is Liz, and I'm so happy you're here!

I began my photography journey back in 2013, and in 2020, my life-long passion blossomed into a profitable business. These past three years as a small business owner have been both a joy and a journey, and I have been so fortunate to have had consistent work since establishing myself as an L.L.C.

My love of photography is centered around capturing peoples' joy. My portfolio represents snapshots of life's most precious moments, milestones, and memories.

My top priority is getting to know you and how you dream your joy be captured for a lifetime, by providing a personable and personalized experience.

I absolutely cannot wait for you to join me on this journey.

"Working with Elizabeth was SO easy! She was easy to talk with, easy to get a hold of, and very quick to respond. She had some prepared poses for us that felt natural and encouraged us to be ourselves in front of the camera. She is super flexible and was very collaborative throughout the entire session. She captured our surprise engagement perfectly and I am SO lucky that she was there! She even edited a photo we chose right afterwards so we could post on social media as soon as possible. I am OBSESSED with the photos she took and gave us and immediately framed many for our apartment (and loved ones)! They all love them too!"

"Elizabeth is a great photographer! She is both professional and super fun, and she was very helpful while we were trying to decide on a location to take the photos. During the shoot, she had so many ideas to try and kept up laughing the whole time. The whole experience was light-hearted and stress free. Our photos were ready within a mater of days and turned out beautiful! We will definitely seek her services again the future! Thank you Elizabeth!"

- Matthew & Janessa

"Wow! We had such a great time with Liz. She came up with fun, creative, and effective ways to help me feel more comfortable in front of the camera and captured some amazing candid moments. She provided the perfect amount of direction for use while also letting us be ourselves throughout the photoshoot and was able to capture our true selves! Liz also welcomed my dog to the photo shoot and took incredible photos of him which I was so grateful for. She is very professional and personable and takes absolutely beautiful, unique photos. I would work with her again in a heartbeat! Thank you Liz!"

- Laura & Krister

"Liz is a friendly, accommodating, and talented photographer who captures all of these qualities in each photo she takes of her subjects. Posing us beautifully, Liz made us laugh and smile during our session. She quickly got our photos back to us, and stayed in communication with us during the wait time. We love you Liz!"

- Mary & Carson

"Liz was so easy and fun to work with! She immediately got us loosened up in front of the camera and had us laughing the whole time. For someone who immediately tenses up in front of a camera, this was so helpful. I was completely blown away by how the photos turned out! She captured us just as we are, which makes me so happy!"

- Geneva & Sam

Proposal Stories

At the beginning of the holiday season, Sarah reached out to me to book a couples portrait session for her and her then boyfriend, David. Not too long after booking, David reached out to me to add a sweet surprise to the session!

Sarah and David are both James Madison University alumni, and decided they wanted to take pictures on campus. We started on the quad, and took regular couples portraits around campus for about thirty minutes (for fellow Dukes- Burrus fountain, the columns next to Hotel Madison, and the music building, to be exact!!). Throughout the session, Sarah had absolutely NO IDEA what was going to happen. When we circled back to the quad, David gave me the look, and I made some space for them to have their private moment while I captured it in the background. Sarah was absolutely STUNNED and it was such a joy to witness!

Concept Session - Winter Solstice Mermaid

I've partnered with The Virginia Mermaid many times throughout the years, (she's on Instagram @thevirginiamermaid, go follow her for mermaid magic!!), but this is hands down my favorite session we've done yet! Hannah always amazes me with her immense creativity and ability to put together such an intricate look. She wanted to feature her newly designed tail (check out Finfolk Productions for all of your mermaid needs!) while tying in the time of year, the winter solstice!

Hannah found this AMAZING hidden gem of a location in Charlottesville- a beautiful riverbank with endless photo possibilities. When the river water level is low, the washed up driftwood sticks out on dry land and gives such an eerie vibe to the place, especially in the winter. The setting and the early-evening light paired beautifully, and I couldn't be happier with the results!

Proposal Stories

Annalise and I met in our freshman dorm at JMU back in 2015. When her then boyfriend, Hunter, asked me to photograph his proposal, I was beyond excited! Annalise had known (and told both Hunter and I repeatedly) that she would want me there whenever Hunter proposed to capture the experience- so to keep it a surprise, I obviously had to go undercover!

Suddenly I find myself sitting in a winery parking lot, dressed head-to-toe in my fiancé's clothes (hat & sunglasses included), when I realize that I should have brought someone to come with me- do people go to wineries by themselves? With a camera?

I introduced myself to this amazing group of young women and explained my situation. Turns out, it was a bachelorette party (hence the matching Disney outfits) and the bride was instantly OBSESSED with getting to watch the surprise unfold. Well- Annalise had been in a nail appointment that took OVER TWO HOURS. This whole time, I'm hanging out with these gals, swapping stories, and by the time our couple arrived, they knew Annalise and Hunters entire backstory.

My favorite picture has to be this one, when she finally realized what was going on!

Hunter set up a romantic picnic at the edge of the winery. I had to get closer, so the gals and I pretended we were taking group pictures and got closer and closer to them, making sure to be loud and obnoxious to throw Annalise off. She rolled her eyes at us and it took everything I had to not burst out laughing and blow my cover, Eventually, we got RIGHT next to them, and Hunter, cool as a cucumber, asked me (still in the full getup) if I'd take a picture of the two of them. Annalise was NOT about it, until Hunter got down on one knee!
